| How it All Started Tom Young is the original designer of a selection of Village Glass products. Tom Young started Village Glass in 1979 with his wife, Elizabeth. Tom was originally a Scientific Glassblower and used his artistic design skills to create beautiful glassware. Tom decided to set up his own factory in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, Central Scotland. Tom and his team enjoyed almost 20 years trading, supplying large department stores, overseas customers and the scientific market. Tom uses the unique technique of lampworking. All the glass is hand blown, no moulds are used. Tom is now semi retired but still makes glass exclusively for Village Glass. |
